How to pay your Electricity bill online in HP on HPSEB (Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board)


Step 1:- Open this link http://www.hpseb.com

Step 2:- Click on PAY YOUR BILLS ONLINE (Click Here button)






Step 3:- Click on CONSUMER ID(red colored button) 



Step 3:- Enter your 12 digit CONSUMER ID and click on Submit button (blue colored button)


Step 4:- After entering the CONSUMER ID Please Cross-verify your details by matching the your NAME and SUB-DIVISION details. 

Important Note :- (a) Consumer ID = Costumer ID  which is equal to 12 digit Numeric Code mentioned on the Top of your bill.
(b) Every Machine or a Smart Electricity Meter at your home have their unique Customer ID.



Step 5:- Here Costumer Name is Dummy Dummy 

but when you put your ID it will be displaying your Name and Subdivision code and Subdivision Name. 
It is important to check weather this is your account or not.

Step 6:- ENTER your Email ID to get a receipt of the Online Payment.

Step 7 :- ENTER your Mobile Number.

Step 8:- SELECT Payment Gateway as HDFC Payment Gateway.

NOTE:- What is Payment Gateway ? Why we need to select HDFC here?
a payment gateway is simply a software application. It’s basically a conduit between an eCommerce website and the bank that authorizes (or declines) a customer’s credit or debit card payment. Here HDFC is acting as a Gateway. 

Step 9:- Enter your bill amount as showed on your Bill in the Advance Payment Amount field and Click or MAKE PAYMENT button.


Step 10:- Select your payment Option. 

Generally we use Debit card but user can select their own payment option as per their convenience. 




Step 11:- After selecting debit card Enter Card type :-(mentioned on the front side of debit card)



Step 12:- Enter Card details and Click on Pay Now button 
(your card number is mentioned on the front side of card)
(your card expiry date is mentioned on the front left side of card)
(CVV is the last 3 digits as they are mentioned on the back side of card just below the black colored magnetic chip)
(Card having SBI Maestro do not pocess any expiry date and cvv but you can still proceed for they payment )

Step 13:- Verify your Card details and then verify the OTP.

Step 14:- Finally after successfully verifying OTP the payment is done as shown below.

Finally :- YOU CAN PRINT RECEIPT on the same time.

Otherwise the receipt will come automatically on the Email provided.
